UNIUYO POST UTME SCREENING FORM FOR 2017/2018 SESSION IS OUT!

The University of Uyo hereby invites candidates who made the University their 1st Choice in 2017/2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and had a minimum score of 180 to apply for Screening.

NOTE:
Cutoff Mark = 180.
The Screening Fee = N 2, 500.00.
Registration = Online.
Deadline for Registration = Friday September 15, 2017.

University of Uyo 2017 Post UTME Screening begins on Monday, 18th September 2017.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
Eligible candidates should pay a non-refundable sum of N2, 500.00 (Two thousand, Five hundred naira) only via the University portals.

ONLINE REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT INSTRUCTION
1. Visit http://uniuyo.edu.ng/eportals or www.uniuyo.edu.ng (Click on e–portals link)
2. Select Admission Forms Link
3. Select Post-UTME as the Admission Form Type
4. Enter your phone Number and Email address
5. Click on MAKE PAYMENT NOW button to make payment
6. Payment can be made online using ATM Card/Internet Banking or at and branch of all the Commercial Banks using pre-payment slip through Remita platform.
7. After payment return to the online portal and click on Register Link to obtain your login credentials to complete your registration.
8. Printout the 2017/2018 Screening Exercise Schedule Slip.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. The same passport photograph used for the online registration will be used during the screening exercise and for registration after the offer of admission.
2. No complaint of wrong Bio-Data or blank photograph will be entertained after Submission.
3. Candidates who up-load wrong bio-data will automatically be disqualified.
4. Inconsistency in passport on the registration slip will not be acceptable to the University.

Candidates’ names on their O/L results, UTME results and other registration documents must be the same.

CANDIDATES ARE REQUIRED TO COME FOR THE SCREENING EXERCISE WITH THE FOLLOWING ITEMS.
1. Original and photocopies of candidate’s academic qualifications (SSCE, O/L, NECO, NABTEB etc.).
2. One (1) copy of the University of Uyo 2017 ONLINE Screening Exercise Schedule Slip duly completed with the passport-size photograph printed in colour.
3. One (1) copy of 2017 JAMB (UTME) Result printout.
4. One (1) recent passport-size photograph on red background with the name, UTME registration number and signature of the candidates on the reverse side of the Photograph.
These should be packed in quarto-size envelope and labeled with name, department and JAMB registration number.

ASUU CONDITIONS TO END STRIKE UNSETTLE FG

The first Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided by President Muhammadu Buhari upon his return from medical vacation in London could not arrive at any meaningful decision to placate members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) which recently embarked on an indefinite strike.

Instead, the president mandated Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to take over the negotiations. He specifically instructed the Vice President to sit down with Government Officials and take a holistic look into demands raised by the union with a view to ending the strike. ASUU had on Tuesday shunned a meeting with Government Officials at the Ministry of Labour and Employment on the conditions that its demands which had been agreed upon in 2009 and 2013 be met. Among conditions raised by ASUU which government was expected to meet before the strike would be called off include registration of Nigerian Universities Pension Management Company (NUPEMCO), discontinuation of the fractionalization of salaries in Federal Universities, improved funding for State Universities, payment of arrears and implementation of Earned Academic Allowance.

ASUU also expects the Federal Government to order the release of fund for revitalization of Public Universities as spelt out in the 2013 Memorandum of Understanding, prioritize guidelines for Retirement Benefits of Professors in line with 2009 FGN/ASUU Agreement, exclude Universities from the Treasury Single Account (TSA) Policy and rescind its decision on funding support for Universities Staff Primary Schools. At a previous FEC meeting
where ASUU strike was tabled for deliberations, the presidency had maintained a position that it would not compromise the Policy on TSA. Government had also insisted that the striking lecturers must undergo forensic audit to ascertain how the N30 billion previously released to them was spent before it would release the balance N23 billion.

All these positions were presented to ASUU executives on Thursday, August 17 during their enlarged meeting with the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, but it appeared the resolutions did not go down well with Biodun Ogunyemi, ASUU’s President and his team.

Ngige had notified few participants on Tuesday’s botched meeting that FEC approval would be required in some of the demands raised by the union. ASUU in boycotting the meeting insisted that it had collated views of her members on the offers from government in dispute in the letter of August 16, 2017 and has therefore submitted their views to the Federal Government provide a letter dated August 28, 2017. “As we await the Federal Government’s action on our letter, we hope that it would not be long before we receive a positive response which will bring an end to the dispute”, Ogunyemi had stated.

Osinbajo Leads Negotiations

Fielding questions from State House correspondents after the FEC meeting, Ngige confirmed the appointment of Osinbajo as Chief Negotiator. “This is the first National strike that this government is facing and we want to discuss. “At council today, the Vice President has taken over some of the aspects of the negotiations and discussions. “So, we are continuing the meeting in his office and when we finish meeting, we will get back to ASUU for another round of meeting and we are hopeful that we will be able to go to an appreciable extent to solve some of the outstanding issues that is preventing them from going back to work,” he said. On the National Minimum Wage Committee, the Minister stated that the Federal Government Team was ready for the commencement of negotiation with the labour unions and other stakeholders.

He said already four ministers, Head of Service of the Federation and the Acting Secretary to the Government of the Federation had been appointed to be part of the Government Team. “The Chairman will be unveiled when we have full component of the
committee. The aspect that is delaying from inaugurating the committee is the organized private sector. “The organized private sector has eight representatives of which Nigeria Employers’ Committee Assembly has four nominations and they have not sent their nominations. “Manufacturers Association of Nigeria two nominations, their nominations just came in yesterday. Nigeria Association of Small Medium Enterprise one, they have not sent in their nomination. “NACCIMA has not sent in their nominations.
So we are waiting for these nominations, when they come in the government will nominate the chairman and inaugurate the committee,’’ he explained.

POSTPONEMENT OF 2017/2018 SESSION POSTGRADUATE SCREENING EXERCISE OF UNIVERSITY OF UYO.

This is to inform all candidates who applied for admission into the programmes of the Postgraduate School for the 2017/2018 Academic Session that, screening exercise which was scheduled to hold from Monday, September 4th, 2017 to Friday, September 8th, 2017 has been postponed.

Kindly log on to the University of Uyo website (http://www.uniuyo.edu.ng) for information on the new date for the screening exercise after the National Strike by Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

AKSU 2017/2018 POST UTME FORM AND ADMISSION SCREENING DATE

AKSU 2017/2018 Post UTME form is out. Candidates who chose AKSU as first choice in the 2017 JAMB Examination and had a score of 160 and above can apply. Registration will begin on Wednesday, 30th August, 2017. The deadline for applying is Monday, 11th September, 2017. The screening exercise will hold from Monday, 18th September to Monday, 25th September, 2017 at the Main Campus, Ikot Akpaden - Mkpat Enin L.G.A from 9.00 am daily.

Details are provided below: 
1. Monday, 18th September, 2017 – Faculties of Agriculture, Arts, Education, and Department of Mass Communication.
2. Tuesday, 19th September, 2017 – Faculty of Engineering
3. Wednesday, 20th September, 2017 – Faculty of Natural & Applied Sciences, Departments of Economics and Marketing.
4. Thursday, 21th September, 2017 – Departments of Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration and Political Science

To Apply, follow these instructions:
1. Go to http://bit.ly/29YU8Wj and click the Register Now link on the Login page.
2. Select PUTME in the Registration Type Panel and click on Regular icon.

3. Enter your JAMB Registration Number and click Verify.
4. On the right hand side of the page showing your details, select Click to Make Payment to generate a Pre-payment Slip.

5. Print the Pre-payment Slip and proceed to the bank to make payment for Akwa Ibom State University Post UTME Screening Exercise using e-transact.

6. After payment, go back to http://bit.ly/29YU8Wj and log into the portal. The payment status on the right side of the page should now show Paid.
7. Click the “>” icon at the extreme right of the page to proceed with registration process.
8. Complete the form and ensure you clearly scan and upload the following document with sizes not more than 50kb:
i. WAEC/NECO/ NABTEB Certificates/Result, as may be applicable.
ii. Certificate of origin.
iii. 2017 UTME Result Printout.
9. Print three copies of Registration Slip from the portal. This will serve as your screening Photocard. It carries vital information such as the date and venue of your PUTME Screening.

Please Note:
1. Candidates are to appear for PUTME screening exercise with the following:
i. Three copies of 2017 UTME Result Slip showing the candidates photograph in colour.
ii. Three copies of AKSU Photocard/PUTME Screening schedule slip printed from the University portal on completion of Registration.
2. When filling the application form, each applicant should endeavour to use his/her own phone number and valid e-mail address in order to receive timely alerts, messages and directives. Do not use those of a cybercafe operator or any other third party.
3. All uploaded documents must be clear and readable. Blurred or unclear documents will lead to automatic disqualification.
4. Any candidate who fails to participate in the screening exercise will not be considered for admission into the University.
5. Applicants who did not choose AKSU as the University of First Choice in the 2017/2018 UTME are not eligible for this exercise for now.
